- Nick Sharr
After interning with WeatherWorks for two years, Nick joined the company full time in January 2014. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Oneonta in December 2013. Growing up in the small town of Belvidere, NJ, he has always been fascinated with meteorology, but the significant flooding along the Delaware River in 2004, 2005, and 2006 showed him a different side of the weather. He saw first-hand how devastating extreme weather can be and he wanted to help prepare the public for these historic events. To accomplish this, Nick completed an undergraduate research project titled “Classification of Flood Intensity Along the Delaware River Basin” to help better predict major flooding events along the river.
Outside of the office, Nick‘s favorite hobbies include working out, playing all types of sports, and fishing. He is a huge Dallas Cowboy’s fan and loves the New York Mets. His childhood sports idols were Mike Piazza, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith. Nick is an avid fisherman, who spends most of his summer nights catching striped bass and catfish along waterways in northwest NJ.
