The Next Generation of Winter Risk™

September 11, 2014 // Article by: Rob Reale

As the old saying goes, Time is Money... and we all know it takes money to fuel our operations! But, did you realize proper planning and implementing a well developed "Strategy" not only before but during a winter season can be one of the most cost effective measures a company can take? Making the correct decisions on when to purchase materials, rent equipment and how to manage employees is key to an efficient winter snow removal operation.  Now you can plan ahead and find better solutions for your company to minimize the disasters like last year's salt shortage! To aid in this planning, WeatherWorks will re-launch our long range forecast service with a newly designed platform and more to offer this upcoming season. Let us introduce the next generation of Winter RiskTM!

Winter RiskTM aims to bridge the gap between our Daily Forecast / Storm Alert service which provides short term weather information (1-5 days) and the longer range monthly outlooks. This gap is filled with our new "STORM TRACKER" section which will highlight every potential storm, impact or disturbance in the 6 - 14 day period. Whether the threat is a fast moving clipper system from the north, a coastal storm from the south or even an arctic outbreak, it is all covered. Additionally, for larger impact storms we will provide the WeatherWorks "Inside Track" with extensive model analysis, trends, and bold predictions well ahead of the storm. Our risk analysis will aid in the decision making process allowing you to gain an edge on the competition.

Beyond the 6 - 14 day period, an extended week 3 and 4 outlook will analyze the potential for salting, plowable, significant, and mixed events, along with extreme cold (see image above). Additionally, our pre-season monthly outlooks will be updated through the season to keep you informed of longer range trends. Simply put, this product is designed to prepare you for the next big storm before mother nature even knows what is happening. For just $295 a season, Winter RiskTM will give you the inside track into a more cost effective and fluid operation.
