It seems like time has been flying by and it's hard to believe that we have reached the unofficial start of summer. Yes, Memorial Day Weekend is here. And while life is much different this year, the weather still goes on. We'll say the forecast is so-so for the Northeast. Some will see rain, some won't...some will stay cool while others will be on the milder side. Bottom line, we have quite the variety of weather this weekend from Boston to Washington, DC. Let's break down each day and talk about what to expect.
The best chance for rain this weekend will be on Saturday, but not everyone will see rain. The main threat will be from Philadelphia to Hartford. There could even be a few downpours and storms as low pressure "pivots" over this region on Saturday. Outside of these areas, there still could be a few showers (Maryland, south Jersey, Boston), but rain amounts in these locations are expected to be light. Here is a look at the simulated radar for 2 PM Saturday. Temperatures on Saturday will be seasonable with highs in the 60s and some low 70s.

Low pressure will then exit Saturday night, but the wind will turn to the Northeast for Sunday. This will help transport cooler, Atlantic air into much of the Northeast. So even though it is expected to be dry, temperatures will be running 10 - 15 degrees below normal. Some locations may not even even get out of the 50s Sunday afternoon. Here is a look at forecast temperatures for 2 PM Sunday.

So, that brings us to Memorial Day. This will likely be the best day of the holiday weekend. We should see a fair amount of sunshine up and down the I-95 corridor and it will be milder by Monday afternoon (although parts of southern New England will stay a bit cool as winds remain from the east). Here is a look at 2 PM temperatures for Monday.

So, that's it for now. Overall, a cooler than normal Memorial Day Weekend ahead with some rain on Saturday. If you notice on the temperature map for Monday, plenty of 80s being to show up over the Ohio Valley. This air mass will be headed for the Northeast next week, so finally it looks like we will be getting a taste of summer. Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe !!
