Is it really October already?? That means getting all those pumpkins carved and finding costumes to impress our friends (I’m going as Iron Man this year). Seriously through, it is also time for making those final preparations for winter. In addition, rumors have already been stirring that we are going to have an early snow event this year (considering there were some wet snowflakes in Illinois and Indiana back on October 4th). So after looking at all the guidance and discussing with our long range expert, here is your end of October/Halloween outlook.
Long Range Expert Brian Marmo said,
“While some relaxation of the troughy pattern will produce some periods of above-average temperatures, overall cooler and chilly weather can be expected for the second half of October."
Marmo also stated,
“The big snow potential looks fairly low as we are expecting the pattern to trend on the drier side, with just a few weaker clipper systems possible”.

So while you might need to bundle up for your Halloween adventures, as of now it doesn’t look like you will have to contend with any big snow threats. Have a great Halloween and don’t eat too much candy!
