The remainder of the week will be largely quiet and pleasant throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Today warmed up a bit with highs in the low 70s (mid 60s in Massachusetts) and mainly sunny skies. However, smoke blowing east from the western wildfires continue to make the sun look a bit hazy. Also, some high clouds can be seen along the New England coast due to Hurricane Teddy being positioned out in the Atlantic. Check out the satellite image of these clouds below, courtesy of College of DuPage:
As Teddy moves farther away from the U.S., tonight becomes mostly clear across the region with temperatures in the mid 50s. However, a few localized low temperatures in the upper 40s are possible. Tomorrow will be mainly sunny again with a few passing clouds, but will feel much warmer when compared to the fall-like weather we have been experiencing the last few days. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid/upper 70s throughout the area to around 80 especially in locations farther south. Here's a look at the projected high temperatures for tomorrow at 2 PM from the Hi-Res NAM:

A mix of sun with some afternoon clouds (mainly farther south) is then expected for Thursday as high pressure still remains overhead. High temperatures again will be in the mid to upper 70s. The temperatures for 2 PM Thursday from the Hi-Res NAM are shown below:

The next disturbance approaches N. VA/MD/SE PA and even S. NJ on Friday. The day will likely be mainly dry in these areas under a mix of sun and clouds, but a stray afternoon or evening sprinkle cannot be ruled out. Activity likely holds off until overnight, with the risk of showers slightly increasing in the southern locations mentioned above. Locations farther north will stay dry under partly to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will still remain a bit warmer in the upper 70s / low 80s.
Unfortunately, some wet weather is possible for the weekend. Check back here later in the week for your full weekend forecast!
