An active start to the week is on tap for the Northeast as a cold front approaches the region, but it won't be long lasting as high pressure moves in right on its tail. Here's the details on what you can expect across the region for the upcoming work week!
Monday & Tuesday
The work week will start off on an active note as a system exits and a cold front approaches. Activity from Sunday night clears out of eastern New Jersey after sunrise on Monday, pushing through and exiting Long Island and into the I-95 corridor further north around midday. The cold front itself will mark the return of scattered showers and storms in the mid-Atlantic by late afternoon, with more of an evening arrival the further north you go. For New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the mid-Atlantic, this activity quickly pushes out of the region through the morning on Tuesday, leaving behind a dry afternoon. Unfortunately, rain looks to linger through a good portion of the day on Tuesday in New England. The positive notes about this rainfall is that this will provide continued beneficial rain across much of the region, with any flooding concerns rather localized and mostly in PA on south into MD. On the negative side, some storms could be rather gusty late Monday into the evening, so we'll be on the lookout for these as there's a slight possibility they turn severe. Here's a look at model simulated radar from 8AM Monday through 8PM Tuesday.

Wednesday through Friday
The remainder of the week is fully driven by incoming high pressure, allowing for plentiful sunshine during the day and mainly clear nights. High temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s across the region and overnight lows dip into the 50s and 60s on a daily basis. Temperatures Wednesday night into Thursday morning are trending the coolest, with some locations in New England potentially tip toeing into the upper 40s for overnight lows!
