After a stetch of unseasonably warm temperatures earlier this week, conditions return to cooler, more typical levels for this time of year. The first half of the weekend will remain largely quiet ahead of a system that brings with it some snow for a good portion of the Northeast.
Saturday Overview:
The weekend starts off quiet with most areas (aside from eastern Massachusetts), seeing a good deal of sunshine on an otherwise chilly day. Some ocean-induced snow showers will develop Saturday afternoon in southeastern Massachusetts and produce a light accumulation of snow through Saturday night. Locally persistent snow showers can result in an inch or so in Plymouth County and the general vicinity before the snow shower risk ends early Sunday. So again, outside of that, Saturday will offer quiet weather up and down the I-95 corridor. Here is a look at forecast temperatures for 1 PM on Saturday.

Sunday Overview:
An approaching system should hold off until the second half of Sunday, leaving most of the Northeast dry through Midday. Precipitation begins to push into upstate New York and Pennsylvania in the afternoon, with the NYC and Philadelphia areas seeing the arrival of any rain showers until later in the afternoon...New England more towards evening.
There appears to be a high likelihood that interior areas of the Northeast will see snowfall late Sunday into early monday, though there still is some Uncertainty as to the amount of snow, and whether or not places farther south could see some wet snow mix in. The storm track has been wobbly north and south, which would determine whether or not places like NYC stay rainy and on the milder side. As you head further north and west (Specifically the Hudson Valley and western CT), steady snow will develop in the evening and overnight, result in a few inches, particularly along the I-90 corridor. Snow amounts will taper the further east and northeast you go. Precipitation will persist overnight Sunday before exiting from northwest to southeast early Monday morning. This will be followed by breaks of sun later in the day.
That's all for now. Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the snow (if you're in areas that are forecasted to get it). If you're interested in our forecasting services for your business, you can email us at Sales@weatherworksinc.com or call 908-850-8600.
