It will remain mostly cloudy for the rest of our Friday across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, but any lingering fog and drizzle will diminish by Midday. However, with moisture continuing to flow in off the Atlantic due to an onshore wind, humid conditions will persist with very limited breaks of sun. A few showers and maybe even a storm or two returns to the area through this evening, favoring Long Ilsand, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and northern Virginia. Temperatures are expected to reach the low-to-mid 70s across New England and in the mid-to-upper 70s across most of the Mid-Atlantic, though MD/northern VA could climb into the low 80s.
Any lingering showers around the region taper off through the early evening, though a shower or two can persist at times during the night, especially in eastern New England. The rest of the region sees overnight conditions continuing to dry out still under a mostly cloudy sky as areas of fog redevelop. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low-to-mid 60s farthest north, and in the mid-to-upper 60s (maybe even 70) farthest south.
Areas of fog early Saturday morning will kick off the weekend, though will eventually lift to a partly sunny sky as the morning progresses. The day looks largely dry overall and therefore OK for any outdoor plans you may have. However, a cold front approaching from the northwest poses the risk for a few showers and storms across the region, primarily through the afternoon and into the evening. Locations farthest north and west (such as northeastern PA and northwestern NJ) hold the greatest to see activity. This by no means makes the day a washout here as plenty of dry time is still expected in between (although a gusty shower/storm or two is not ruled out). Humid conditions will persist around the area with dewpoints in the 60s. Combined with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s north/low-to-mid 80s south, it will still feel a bit unpleasant.

The couple of showers and storms around the area Saturday evening can linger through the first part of the overnight hours as the cold front tracks through the region. In its wake, expect clearing skies as temperatures drop into the upper 50s/low 60s farther north and in the mid-to-upepr 60s farthest south.
Sunday starts a dry and quiet pattern as high pressure builds across the I-95 corridor, lending to pleasant conditions to close out the weekend and start off the next work week. Expect a mostly sunny skies on Sunday with slightly breezy conditions. Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s, but under low humidity, the weather will be prime for any outdoor activites. Not much change for Monday as high pressure remains in place. Plenty of sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures again in the upper 70s to low 80s makes for fantastic late summer/early fall weather conditions.
